NEIL H. DAVIS
At the age of 13, I began my interest in photography, and since then, I learned how to use a simple small digital camera and worked my experience up to DLSR Cameras. From High School through College, I learned to utilize my skills in any environment and found a way to compose images and tell pictorial stories through each photograph.
At the age of thirteen I began my experience with photography and have experimented with many techniques. I incorporate these techniques into my photography when taking portraits, landscapes, animals, sports figures, and many other compositions. With the skills that I learned in photography, I began to tell pictorial stories that were uncovered behind each photo.
I entered college with a major in graphic design. My experiences in graphic design allowed me to create ideas using my imagination and unique and mesmerizing images. My photographs are stories based on my personal experiences and emotions.
During college, I was fortunate to have had two wonderful internships. I interned at The Atlantic City Weekly in Atlantic City, New Jersey. There, I was charged with the responsibility of creating advertisements for many of ACW’s clients.
Additionally, I interned at Alkemy-X . A production company specializing in filming commercials, shows, and movies in Philadelphia, PA. During my internship at Alkemy-X, I focused on learning and experimenting with various media to assist in their many projects and client needs.
After graduating from Rider University, I was hired as a graphic designer and photographer for Double R Designs in Haddonfield, NJ. In my current position, I design logos and advertisements as well as take photographs to create advertisements for various projects.
When the Eagles won Super Bowl LII, one of my images, “The Creation of The Super Bowl Champs”, went viral on the internet and made a headline to PhillyNews. It was a big break for me and I continue to do freelance photography for newspapers and media till this day in order to achieve my career goal as a news photographer.
As my photography and videography skills continue to grow, they have helped me at my current employment at Davis Enterprises in Marlton, NJ, as a visual media coordinator and a freelance photographer for NJ.com to capture unique photos and videos for online and social media.
All of my work experiences have furthered my desire to be involved in the creative process of graphic arts and advertising. I am utilizing the skill set that I have developed through my education and internships. I am also strongly willing to learn from those with more experience.
I have become proficient using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign , Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Digital Photography, File Transfer Protocol, Lighting Techniques, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Photo Editing, Videography and Video Editing.
